| Dr. Balyeat is a board certified ophthalmologist with additional fellowship training in the management of disease affecting the macula, retina and vitreous. He specializes in the surgical management of retinal detachment, macular holes, epimacular membranes ("macular puckers"), the medical and surgical managment of diabetic retinopathy and inflammatory eye disease (uveitis) and the medical management of age-related macular degeneration. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and a fellow of the American Society of Retinal Specialists. Dr. Balyeat has been in practice in Tulsa with the ophthalmologists of The Eye Institute since 1988. |
| Dr. Balyeat's practice is open to patients of all ages. We are often asked to perform second opinions especially prior to cataract surgery. Although most of Dr. Balyeat's patients are referred by other ophthalmologists and primary care physicians, his medical practice is open to self-referred patients with known retinal conditions. |
